If you have prepared financial statements with Aumico so far, you switch to nunia via the trial balance from the client’s accounts, year by year as before. nunia does not offer a transfer of files from Aumico; prior-year figures come from the prior year’s trial balance, and you file earlier documents as documents. This page describes the process, shows what nunia covers beyond the financial statements, and states the price.
In brief
- The client’s accounts stay where they are; nunia reads their trial balance
- Excel, CSV or PDF, with column confirmation before saving
- Import the prior year as a separate financial year, earlier years if needed
- File earlier financial statements and minutes in the permanent file
- No file import from Aumico
Good timing
The easiest time to switch is with the next closing: you import the trial balance of the new year and that of the prior year and compare the prior-year column with the approved financial statements. You complete closings already in progress in the existing program.
The switch step by step
- Create the engagements. Under “Create engagement” you search for the company in the commercial register and take over name, legal form and registered office. Shareholders and governing bodies can be taken over from the commercial register extract as PDF. In the master data you choose the scope of the engagement and the financial year; non-calendar financial years are recorded with “from” and “to”. The workspace is shown in the tutorial video “Welcome to nunia – your workspace”.
- Import the trial balance of the reporting year. Export the trial balance from the client’s accounts, not from Aumico, and drag it into the field of the year. nunia asks for type and year and shows under “Check columns” how account number, name and balance were read.
- Record the prior year. You create the prior year as a separate financial year and import its trial balance straight away. The prior-year column then comes from this file. You drag further earlier years into the year overview together if needed.
- Check and approve the mapping. nunia maps the accounts according to the SME chart of accounts or by name. Compare the prior year’s balance sheet and income statement with the approved financial statements; adjust differences in the structure in the mapping. nunia remembers corrections per client.
- File earlier documents. Upload approved financial statements, GM minutes, contracts and tax documents as files into the engagement’s permanent file, sorted by category; see the tutorial video “Permanent file & master data”.
- Take over registers and texts. You enter shareholders or members once in the share register or register of capital contributions; you align the adaptable standard text of the accounting principles and the other notes disclosures once with the last financial statements.
- Prepare the first closing in nunia. Financial statements, notes, closing file and minutes are created from the same data. From the second year on, nunia takes over the prior year, mapping and minutes templates from its own file.

What you check yourself after the switch
- whether the prior-year figures in nunia match the approved financial statements, including any reclassifications
- whether notes disclosures that apply across several years, such as leasing, collateral or investments, have been taken over completely
- whether the design of the PDF – template, font, logo and language – matches your previous presentation towards the client
- whether deadlines and responsibilities are recorded per engagement
How the financial statements are created in nunia is described in Preparing financial statements; the framework with deadlines and general meeting in Year-end closing in Switzerland. Which points count in every choice of fiduciary software is explained under Fiduciary software Switzerland. The particularities of exports from Abacus, Banana, Sage and bexio are on the page Migration.
