The new world for fiduciaries

nunia – software for fiduciaries in Switzerland

Advise instead of retyping.

nunia joins up your fiduciary craft into one system that works together: from the trial balance through the financial statements under the CO and the year-end closing to GM minutes, share register and advisory work. Entered once, linked everywhere.

🖥️ Great things start big. The system tour unfolds best on a desktop – remember nunia.ch and open it later on a large screen. That is where nunia shows how everything plays together.

The nunia universe

From the trial balance to the financial statements: modules that work as a network.

The data import feeds the financial statements; from them grow cash flow, supporting documents, analysis and valuation. Share register, GM minutes and dividend form the legal axis. Engagements and deadlines keep everything in step.

From administering to advising

Less manual work, more time for the client.

Because everything is linked, duplicate work disappears: figures flow from the import into the report, the minutes and the advice – consistent and verifiable.

  • ✓ Entered once – available in the financial statements, analysis and legal matters.
  • ✓ Fit for every legal form: AG, GmbH, cooperative, association, foundation, sole proprietorship.
  • ✓ Traceable: every item can be traced down to the account.
  • ✓ Swiss standard: CO structure, four-eyes approval.
AI with data protection. The AI support (Claude) runs within Europe (AWS Bedrock, Zurich endpoint) – your data does not leave the EU. Only anonymised figures are transmitted; nothing is used for model training, and the function can be switched off at any time. More in the privacy policy.

Knowledge & templates

Year-end closing, general meeting and registers: the topics in detail.

Specialist pages for fiduciaries, each with the legal basis and what nunia takes care of. It all starts with the trial balance from the client’s accounts; how it becomes the financial statements is shown in Preparing financial statements, the whole process with deadlines in Year-end closing in Switzerland. If reserves are released on balance, the amount belongs in the notes; more under Hidden reserves. For the general meeting there is a GM minutes template and a share register template to download, and what matters when choosing software is summarised in Fiduciary software Switzerland. If you have prepared the closing with Aumico so far, you switch via the trial balance: Switching from Aumico to nunia.

What is nunia?

nunia is a Swiss fiduciary software for everything after the bookkeeping: engagements, deadlines, data import, financial statements, year-end closing, GM minutes, share register and transparency register in one toolbox – so that you administer less and advise more.

Is nunia a fiduciary software for Switzerland?

Yes, nunia is built for Swiss fiduciary firms – financial statements under the CO, year-end closing, GM minutes and share register, hosted in Switzerland; what matters when choosing is explained under Fiduciary software Switzerland.

Which tasks does nunia cover?

From the engagement and deadline overview through data import and financial statements to the closing process, analyses, GM minutes and share register – everything in one toolbox instead of five programs.

Does nunia prepare the financial statements under the CO?

Yes, balance sheet, income statement and notes under Art. 959 ff. CO, with prior-year comparison and as PDF; the steps are described in Preparing financial statements.

Are the cash flow statement, fixed asset schedule and statement of changes in equity included?

Yes. The financial statements include the cash flow statement, fixed asset movement schedule, statement of changes in equity, provisions movement schedule and appropriation of profit, each with prior-year comparison. You choose the presentation under the CO or Swiss GAAP FER, with amounts in thousands of francs if desired.

In which languages does nunia prepare the financial statements?

Multilingual – German, French, Italian, English and Romansh – and in your fiduciary firm’s own corporate design.

Can I prepare interim financial statements with nunia?

Yes. In addition to the annual closing, you create interim financial statements with their own reporting date as separate files per year (Art. 960f CO). The financial statements then carry the title “Interim financial statements as at the reporting date” and show the profit for the period.

Can I import my accounts?

Yes, nunia reads the trial balance from PDF, CSV or Excel, automatically maps the accounts to the Swiss SME chart of accounts and reads in the prior year as well; definition, example and export are explained on the page Trial balance.

Are there interfaces to accounting systems?

Yes. bexio is connected directly: you link the bexio company with one click (sign-in with bexio), assign it to the engagement, and nunia retrieves the trial balance, account statements and open items per financial year directly – for all engagements in one run if you wish. Adjusting entries from the closing can be written back to bexio on request. All other systems are read in via their exports (PDF, CSV, Excel). Further direct interfaces, including Abacus, Topal and Infoniqa, are in preparation.

Which programs can I import from?

From the common exports – including Abacus, Sage, Bexio, Banana, BusPro, Business Central and SAP Business One – as PDF, CSV or Excel. There are dedicated pages on Financial statements from Abacus and Financial statements from bexio.

Does nunia also handle payroll, VAT and day-to-day bookkeeping?

No. Payroll, VAT returns and day-to-day financial accounting stay in the client’s accounting software. nunia starts from the trial balance: year-end closing, financial statements, analyses, resolutions and engagement management.

Can I switch to nunia from Aumico or another program?

Yes, via the trial balance from the client’s accounts and the prior year as a separate financial year; earlier years you record as separate financial years if needed or file the documents in the permanent file – there is no transfer of files from Aumico. The process is described in Switching from Aumico to nunia, the exports from Abacus, Banana, Sage and bexio on the page Migration.

How does the closing process work?

As a digital closing file with audit areas, supporting documents, checklists, optional four-eyes principle and approval; the process and deadlines are summarised in Year-end closing in Switzerland.

How do I record adjusting entries and accruals?

You record adjusting entries in the closing process directly in the file; they flow into the financial statements and the closing file. nunia proposes accruals and deferrals according to fixed rules with amount and derivation; one click adopts the proposal as an adjusting entry. The tax-recognised FTA interest rates for advances to shareholders and operating loans are taken by nunia from the annual circular as a proposal; nothing is adopted until you click “Adopt”.

How does nunia manage documents and vouchers?

Vouchers and supporting documents sit at the account of the file, permanent documents in the permanent file by category (company and law, minutes, contracts, pensions, taxes and more). You annotate each PDF in the browser with tick, cross, “checked” stamp, note and highlight and save it as a new version; Word and Excel files open with one click in Word or Excel and are filed as a new version when saved. The process is shown in the tutorial video “Permanent file & master data”.

Which analyses does nunia offer?

Key figures with target ranges and industry comparison (NOGA 2008, FSO reference values, anonymous peer benchmark), variance analysis against the prior year, hidden reserves, capital analysis (CO 725/680) and business valuation (DCF, capitalised earnings value, net asset value, practitioners’ method); on disclosure in the notes: Hidden reserves.

Does nunia help with loss of capital and over-indebtedness (CO 725)?

Yes, the capital analysis checks for loss of capital and over-indebtedness under CO 725 as well as the return of contributions under CO 680; the measures are explained in Loss of capital and over-indebtedness.

Does nunia support GM minutes and the share register?

Yes, nunia generates the minutes of the ordinary general meeting and keeps the share register and register of capital contributions (including cooperative shares and GmbH capital contributions); more under Preparing GM minutes and Share register and register of capital contributions, each with a template to download.

Can nunia handle dividends and withholding tax?

Yes, you prepare the distribution, withholding tax and certificates directly in nunia; the rules are explained in Appropriation of profit and dividend.

Does nunia help with reporting to the transparency register?

Yes, the “Transparency register” card in the share register proposes the beneficial owners, shows the reporting deadline under Art. 51 TJPG and generates the reporting sheet for the EasyGov portal (there is no federal reporting interface); duties and deadlines are explained in Transparency register: reporting obligation and deadlines.

Does nunia calculate the tax value under Circular No. 28?

Yes, the share valuation follows Circular No. 28 with capitalised earnings value and net asset value, the FTA’s annual capitalisation rate and the rules of the 26 cantons, and generates a valuation sheet as PDF; the method is explained in Share valuation under Circular No. 28.

Which legal forms is nunia suitable for?

For AG, GmbH, sole proprietorships, cooperatives and more; financial years that differ from the calendar year as well as long and short financial years are also supported.

Can I work with my team?

Yes. Administrators manage the firm, staff and settings and see all engagements; for each engagement you designate the engagement lead and the engagement manager. You switch the four-eyes principle for the closing on or off per engagement or for the whole firm.

How do I keep deadlines and appointments under control?

The deadline calendar shows deadlines and appointments across all engagements, filtered personally with a 90-day horizon; via calendar subscription (ICS) they appear in Outlook, Google or Apple Calendar. Tasks have responsibility, priority and reminders. For natural persons there are deadline engagements at CHF 4 per engagement and year – with tasks and deadlines only.

Can the auditor access the closing?

Yes. You give the auditor read-only access to the closing including the financial statements and supporting documents – without sending data by e-mail. See the tutorial video “Data exchange with the client and the auditor”.

How does the client portal work for my clients?

Your clients receive a link by e-mail and sign in with a one-time code – without an account or password. There they upload the requested documents per item, answer questions and download the financial statements provided. You set the deadline and automatic reminders per request; e-mail attachments become unnecessary. The process is shown in the tutorial video “Data exchange with the client and the auditor”.

Can the financial statements be signed electronically?

The financial statements include a “Representation letter” page with place, date and handwritten signature; nunia delivers the finished PDF to the client via the client portal (link, one-time code, download receipt). nunia does not offer an electronic signature of the financial statements. In the sister product pruvia, auditor’s reports and representation letters are signed electronically via Skribble.

Can nunia be used on a smartphone?

On the go you see engagements, tasks and deadlines on your mobile; the actual work is designed for the desktop.

Where is my data stored?

In Switzerland. Each fiduciary firm gets its own physically separate database – no shared data pool – with two-factor sign-in and automatic backups.

Does nunia use AI – and what about data protection?

AI functions run exclusively via data centres in Europe (AWS Bedrock, Zurich) – no processing in the USA. Names, companies, addresses, OASI numbers and IBANs are pseudonymised before transmission (technically not possible for vouchers). AI results are proposals that a person checks and adopts; AI can be switched off per firm in the settings. nunia is designed for the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection.

What does nunia cost?

Basic CHF 25 per engagement and year (financial statements, closing process, capital analysis); the add-on packages Analysis, Company & resolutions and Organisation CHF 10 each, Enterprise with everything CHF 50. Minimum amount CHF 500 per year (20 engagements), engagements in steps of 5 online up to 3'000 engagements, above that an individual offer; volume discount from an annual amount of CHF 3'000. Deadline engagements for natural persons CHF 4 per engagement and year. All prices excl. VAT – details in the price calculator.

Can I buy on invoice?

Yes – you buy on invoice with a Swiss QR payment part and a 30-day payment term. Deliberately without a credit card checkout.

How long does the contract run and how do I cancel?

The contract and billing period is one year from the initial conclusion; packages or engagements booked later end on the same date. The contract renews for one year unless you cancel in text form (e.g. e-mail) no later than 30 days before expiry. You export your data before expiry; details are in the GTC.

Can I test nunia first?

Yes. Book a personal online demo (approx. 60 minutes) with our team at nunia.ch/termin – no installation required. The tutorial videos on nunia.ch show the workflows in advance.

How quickly am I ready to go?

In minutes: import figures, check master data, get started. Short tutorial videos guide you step by step through the workflows, starting with “Welcome to nunia – your workspace”.

What help and training is available?

In the application, the assistant “nunia” answers questions about operation; the “Help & Support” page bundles the searchable user guide, the tutorial videos and your requests (tickets) with history. Nine short tutorial videos from workspace to permanent file are also available on nunia.ch. For coordination within the team there is the firm chat with direct chats, one room per file and “Who is online”.

What is the difference between nunia and pruvia?

nunia is the fiduciary software for year-end closing and engagements, pruvia the software for the limited statutory examination and the ordinary audit – independent sister products for strictly separate tasks.

Is there a discount if I use both nunia and pruvia?

Yes. If you already hold a licence for one product, you receive the combination discount of CHF 600 when buying the other – as a fixed amount and in both directions.

Can I export my reports?

Yes – the financial statements as PDF and the closing file as ZIP including supporting documents.
